Dailey & Vincent Visit Strings Music Pavilion

At the astounding rate that Dailey & Vincent have been piling up awards, accolades and No. 1 hits, it seems unfathomable that this bluegrass duo has only been on the radar since 2008.

“What a great sound. Not since the Louvin Brothers has music touched me this deep. I expect them to go all the way to the top and stay there,” says Dolly Parton.

The duo exploded on the bluegrass scene with their debut album “Dailey & Vincent,” taking home seven awards at the 2008 International Bluegrass Music Awards, including Entertainer of the Year and Album of the Year. No other artist has ever before swept that pair of awards in the same year – a feat all the more impressive because they had released their debut album and begun touring only nine months earlier. Their second album, “Brothers From Different Mothers,” arrived a year later, immediately landing at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Bluegrass Albums chart and hovering in the Top 5 for the next three months. It also garnered them three more IMBA awards, including  back-to-back Entertainer of the Year. Their third album, “Dailey & Vincent Sing the Statler Brothers” followed suite with another No. 1 debut in 2010. Dailey & Vincent have recently been nominated for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for “Elizabeth” from this album.  Most recently they brought home seven awards from the SPBGMA Bluegrass Music Awards including Bluegrass Band of the Year and Entertaining Group of the Year.Dailey & Vincent “totally blew me away,” says Jimmy Fortune of the Statler Brothers. “These guys are for real, inside and out, and have some of the best harmony I’ve ever heard. They can flat out sing and pick! I’m their biggest fan.”

Dailey & Vincent is Jamie Dailey, the former lead singer with Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, and Darrin Vincent, formerly with Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder. Although new as a duo, they’ve each won copious awards and star-studded bragging rights en route to this partnership. Both men were raised in musical families and have played bluegrass since the age of three – Dailey in Tennessee and Vincent in Missouri.

Together, Dailey & Vincent’s incomparable harmonies and well-honed musicianship have won over fans of southern gospel, country, folk and traditional bluegrass. “A new dynasty may be taking shape in bluegrass music,” says the Wall Street Journal.
